The 'shrooms were here, the 'shrooms were there, the 'shrooms were everywhere. by Lady Catherine of Umbria, aka The Bard of Cybidium. She was Chronicler during Baron Catalin and Baroness Ana's reign! Alas! Alack how many years can one roll back? My bardic skills when compared to Gerhardt do lack But the tales of early Westermark raucous, rowdy, raunchy and bold should best be told, Before the fuzz of "sex, drugs and rock-n-roll." On aging brain cells all take their toll James and Radnor traded kingships Their fights were legendary one upmanship. As body armor clanged it was winner take all, loser be danged! Court would be treated to a "Larry" play. Oh how the insults flowed in ionic pentameter Be you Lord or Lady if Larry knew you, it didn't matter. But the best was yet to come for after sundown many a nefarious deed was done. The mead cups flowed over came the dawn many Westermarker had the "blue death" of a hangover Of rumors, innuendoes "were there drugs"? Those tales in our dotage best be swept under the rug We Westermarkers were noted for our "flair" When we arrived at an event, could we camp "over there" A tale of early Westermark would be at a loss if one failed to mention The Numeranian Brick Toss For these early Barony eulogies I'll make no apologies. We were young, bold and crass on the field our fighters could kick ass Some of us joined for history, to make lace or a lark But we were the stuff of the legends of Westermark! |
