  • Yuly Madness: July 19-21, 2002

The Barony of the Westermark invited all to join in the holiday spirit at "Yuly" Madness! Yule laugh! Yule cry! Yule kiss four bucks good-bye! Madness' Theme being 'Christmas in July'! We had fighting: 'The first annual Domestic Disturbance melee', the Thug of the Westermark Competition and The Immortals Tourney! There was a fight and a wedding broke out, Heather Alexander played awesome music, Barons got pied, did I mention Heather Alexander? We had much merriment, good drink, good food (and what an amazing feast it was!!!) and song!

During the day besides the typical heavy fighting, there was the 1st Na-Baron's Champion Tourney for kids with boffer weapons! Games were had! Ankles were broken, and I believe there was a 'Grendel Lacktooth' competition! The Westermark's own Lady Muirenn ingen Chinnfáelad and Morgan de Cutaigh, celebrated their wedding with music performed by Heather Alexander, Celtic songwriter, singer, and musician.

The Westermark Bardic/Markee was guested by many including Heather herself! Sir John, Baron Corwyn, and Master George judged our newly married Muirenn as this year's Markee winner! She won singing the following songs, the hands-down favorite being "Yuly Madness". 'The War of Intense' (sung to the tune of "Greensleeves"), 'Feast of Fools' (sung to the tune of "Jingle Bells"), and 'Yuly Madness' (sung to the tune of "The Christmas Song"). "Yuly Madness" was so well liked, Baron Corwyn commanded her to repeat her performance during Sunday morning's court!

The Yule-o-crat was George of Berwick.

    Assasination Feast -- April 26, 2003

Fear stalked the heart of the Barony of the Westermark! Wicked conspirators schemed to rob us of our beloved Baron! Many joined us in ferreting out the nefarious plotters or at least getting good seats for the bloody coup and assassination! Our cooks created a German feast of wondrous delicacies to tempt the palate.
    Autocrat: Iduna Nornadottir.

Sorry, there are no photos available at this time.
